This took a while....

New art people!
I have been busy with work, I don't really have the time to blog anymore. I still draw though, well once in a while. I've been trying to come up with new drawing techniques and subjects for a while now. I dunno if you've noticed all of them look the same.

And its official, I'll be getting new ink for christmas...and its gonna be huge ones..both of my arms are gonna be half sleeved and a fuckin chest piece in the front (of course). Its gonna be a koi (for my daughter), a crab ( for my son) and a skull with a fedora!!

Wooohoo..can't wait. I miss the pain and the needle buzz..

Digital Lomo: Is it possible?

Two years ago, I tried out analog photography, and left a huge gaping hole in my pathetic wallet. I even had rolls and rolls of expired film inside my freezer, claiming that it would restore their freshness. What a freakin' load of horse shit. I had like 5 analog cameras that I was proud of. My 1) L-CA camera (had a temper like a motherfucker, it was a bitch to use) 2) Lomo Colorsplash Camera (which was actually fun to use) 3) Actionsampler (also fun to use) 4) 120 Woca Camera ( heavily modified, utterly useless if you dont have 120 film) and the 5) Holga 135mm cam (got this towards the end of my "lomo-fix").
At first I was happy, the pictures from their website sold it for me. When I tried my own cam, it was definitely mediocre but I think i can work around it. I would usually consume around 2 rolls a day, and come out with 5 "okay" shots. So I trudged on and acquired other film cams, including my grandfather's old SLRs still trying my hand in getting good shots. Then there was shortage of "cross-processing" film as other people were richer and more capable of hoarding vast amounts of film rolls, that did it for me.

I finally sold some of my cams and got a Canon DSLR instead. I had the best time of my life, till I run out of batteries of course, which was often. But its all good coz electricity is cheap and I can finally store pork chops and bacon in the freezer. I also got a GoPro Hero Cam (free from Aloha Boardsports) , which was waterproof and had an analog quality in them (the pics here are from that camera with a little help from the "GIMP", thank you you horny little bastard).
Lomography is a lie and a corporate slogan. Go digital instead..its easier!
These are from our trip in Nataasan, Sipalay Negros Occidental...its not  Boracay, nor Puerto Galera nor those Batangas beaches but is up there in my Best Beaches List next to Bolinao and the Palawan sandbars (Boracay is also in that list...I heart you Bombom Bar).Support Philippine tourism and bring me some food!!
